Obituary

Funeral services for Martin William Stephan, 71, of Coyanosa, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Rev. Michael Fickensher and the Rev. Gerald Boerger, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Stephan died at 1:10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born Dec. 2, 1932, in Abilene. He was a member of the Lockney High School Class of 1951. On July 24, 1955, he married Ruby Schaefer in Plainview. Survivors include his wife; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Wanda Stephan and Linda and Eric Branham, all of Coyanosa, and Janette and Dale Wilhelm of Nazareth; one son and daughter-in-law, Clinton A. and Susan Stephan of Grand Falls; a brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Teddie Stephan of Coyanosa; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. His parents, Karl and Hildegard Eifert Stephan, and a sister, Ruth P. Stephan, are deceased. The family suggests memorials to the Bible League, 16801 Van Dam Rd., South Holland, Ill. 60473.
