A private graveside service for Joe Davis Stanford II, 82, of Plainview will be held Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, in Plainview Memorial Park with Doug Yates officiating. Services are under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. Mr. Stanford passed away on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, in Plainview. He was born Sept. 21, 1930, in Parker, Ariz., to Joe Davis and Emma Hattie Stanford. He received his bachelor's of science in education from Northeast State College in Tahlequah, Okla., and completed his medical technologist certification at Wesley Hospital in Oklahoma City, Okla. He was a medical technologist for more than 45 years, and during this time served as the laboratory director for the Medical Center Clinic and the Hale County Hospital Clinic Laboratory. He was a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathology and the Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include his wife, Eunice Pauline Stanford of Plainview; one son, Joe Stanford III of Plainview; one daughter, Claudia Stanford of Amarillo; one sister, Virginia Mull of Vilonia, Ark., and six grandchildren.
