Funeral services for Will Alton Stambaugh, 82, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Lemons Funeral Home Chapel. Military burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Stambaugh died Wednesday, May 10, 2006, in Covenant Hospital Plainview. He was born Nov. 26, 1923, to George Earl Stambaugh and Willie Maud Taylor Stambaugh in Celina. He served in the U.S. Air Force and later worked for the U.S. Postal Service until retirement. He was a longtime member of the local American Legion and the VFW. Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Will and Cathy Stambaugh of Pomona, Kan., D. Allen and Donna Stambaugh of Tulsa, Okla., and Chawn Stambaugh of Plainview; two daughters and one son-in-law, Becky and Pat Gonzales of Olton and Shayla Tyler of Granbury; one brother, LeeRoy Stambaugh of Plainview; one sister, Francis Doty; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and mothers of his children, Nita Stambaugh of Plainview and Louise Sweatman of Kansas. His parents, a twin brother and two sisters are deceased.
