Obituary

Funeral services for Delores Stambaugh, 78, of Plainview will be at 1 p.m. Thursday Sept. 12, 2013, at Seth Ward Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Ritter officiating and Ty Williams assisting. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Stambaugh passed away on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, in Plainview. She was born on Dece. 2, 1934, in Celeste, Texas, to Aubrey and Margaret Lacey. She married Carson Stambaugh in 1951 in Clovis, N.M. She attended schools in Plainview. She taught Sunday school and was the church organist at Seth Ward Baptist Church, where she was a member for many years. She made a commitment to Christ at 9 years of age. She also taught Reapers Bible Class for 14 years. She served as a Pink Lady at Covenant Hospital Auxillary for many years. She is survived by three sons, Coy Stambaugh and wife Sandy from Alto, N.M., Randy Stambaugh and wife Patty of Lubbock, and Mark Stambaugh and wife Mary of Alto, N.M.; two sisters, Dortha Stair and Darla Buckner, both of Plainview; two grandsons, Jon Marc of Alto, N.M., and Steve of Ruidoso, N.M.; two granddaughters, Lissa Pfuntner of Round Rock and Jenna Khorey of Amarillo; and five great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Taylor, Cooper, Emily and Abby. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2003, and a sister, Doris Pickering, in 2006.
