Stair, James Edward, Mrs. (Mamie Lee Green)

Funeral services for Mamie Stair, 86, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mrs. Stair died at 10:07 a.m. Sunday, March 21, 1999, in Prairie House Living Center.

She was born Mamie Green on Sept. 20, 1912, in Marietta, Okla., She grew up in the Oklahoma and Lawton area and moved to Hale County in 1940. She lived in the East Mound Community and was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church and the Pastor?s Class.

On Oct. 14, 1930, she married James Edward Stair, in Lawton, Okla. He died Oct. 28, 1987.

Survivors include three sons, James Stair, Robert Stair and Charles Stair, all of Plainview; four brothers, Roger Green of Forrest Grove, Ore., Archie Green of Lebanon, Mo., Clifton Green of Higden, Ark., and Ernest Green of Norman, Okla.; four sisters, Lois Preifert of Plainview, Estelline Lupin of Norman, Lilley Frier of Midwest City, Okla., and Rosemary Cox of Lawton; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including Leonard Sanmann of Plainview.

A grandson, Monty Stair, is deceased.

The family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church Building Fund.
