Obituary

J.L. Spencer, 77, of Plainview, passed away Monday, Nov. 28, 2005, in a local nursing home. J.L. was born Aug. 31, 1928, to William Ossy Spencer and Lalar Armstrong Spencer in Dexter, Texas. He married Frances Lovell on Dec. 31, 1950, in Clovis, N.M. J.L. worked at Pioneer Seed Co. as a field superintendent, working alongside and overseeing the seed growers. J.L. is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Frances Spencer of Plainview; a son, Steven Spencer of Plainview; a daughter, Debra Bailey of Fort Worth; four grandchildren, Chad Bailey, Brandon Bailey, Dondi Spencer and Cody Spencer; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Jonathan Alanzo and Jennifer Alanzo. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. today, Nov. 29, 2005, at Lemons Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, in Lemons Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Wendell Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Garden. Arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home.
