Obituary

Funeral services for Vivian V. Spain, 89, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Bartley Funeral Home. Mrs. Spain died Thursday, April 1, 2004, in Covenant Hospital Plainview. She was born Nov. 3, 1914, in Bonita and had been a resident of Plainview for most of her life. She opened the S&H Green Stamps store here and was manager for 16 years. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church. She married Haskell "Hack" Spain on Jan. 15, 1956, in Plainview. Her first husband, Lillard McGuire, died in 1953. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell and Joy McGuire of Glendale, Ariz., and Dwane and Bobbie McGuire of Windsor, Colo.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nelda and James Foster of Toledo Bend, La., and Cleta and James Moore of Weston; a sister, LaFern Van Dyke of Fairfield; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Monday at Bartley Funeral Home.
