Soza, Alonzo,Mrs. (Genobeba Zapata)

Graveside services for Genobeba Zapata, 67, of Chickasha, Okla., were at 1 p.m. today in Hale Center Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Ramos, officiating.
Burial arrangements were by Freeman Abell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Soza died Friday, Sept. 5, 2003 in Chickasha, Okla.

She was born Dec. 22, 1935, in New Braunsfels, the daughter of Remijio and Petra Zapata. She lived in Hollis, Okla., and Hale Center before moving to Chickasha from Abilene in 1999.

In 1966, she married Alonzo Soza in Hollis. He died in 1976.

Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Fuentes of Rule and Fernando Fuentes of Hollis; seven daughters, Mary Reyes and Anita Castaneda, both of Hollis, Carol Davila of Abilene, Susan Larios of Amarillo, Patty Herrera of Chickasha, Geneivie Aldaro of Bridgeport and Vickie Fernandez of Hereford; five brothers, Anastacio Zapata of Campbellian, Bibiano Zapata of Garden City, Kan., Pablo Zapata of Hobatt, Okla, and Sammy Zapata of Hale Center; four sisters, Alfonsa Vargas of Hollis, Pavline Guerrero and Elena Rosales, both of Lakin, Kan., and Patsy Gutiefrez of Lubbock; 40 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Angie Reyes, died Oct. 15, 2002 and Nicholas Zapata also is deceased.
