Obituary

Mildred Irene McCune Sowell, 86, passed away on June 8, 2013, in Lubbock. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Evan Weiss officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Sowell was born June 1, 1927, in Toledo, Ohio, to Clarence and Gladys Davis. She worked as an LVN for many years. Mrs. Sowell is survived by three daughters, Dorothy Farmer and husband Ronald of Hale Center, Sheila Hall of Silverton and Cindy Pfeiffer and husband James of Kyle; two brothers, Raymond Davis of Junction and Carl Davis of Gilmer; one sister, Virginia Rayburn of Ashburn, Va.; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
