Obituary

Funeral services for Eloisa Soto, 73, of Plainview will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Templo Sinai Church with the Rev. Ignacio Soto officiating. Visitation will be from noon-3 p.m. today at Wood Dunning Funeral Home, and a prayer service will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. A prayer service will be at 6 p.m. Monday at Templo Sinai Church. Arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Soto died Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at Prairie House Living Center. She was born April 24, 1938, in Caterina to Calixtro Cruz and Tomasa Garcia Cruz. She and Silverio Soto were married Dec. 8, 1956, in Plainview. She taught Sunday school at Primera Iglesia Bautista in Tulia and served as president of the Women's Prayer Group at Tulia Baptist Church. She was a member of Templo Sinai Church. Survivors include her husband; her sons and daughters-in-law, Martin and Terry Soto, and Edward and Bibiana Soto, all of Plainview, and Rocky and Evangelina Rodriguez of Tulsa, Okla.; her daughters and sons-in-law, MaryJane and Gonzalo DeLuna of Odessa, Lorina and Ruben Espinosa of Copperas Cove, Diana and Freddy Espinosa and Erma Soto, all of Plainview, and Angelita and Robert Magallanes of Odessa; her brothers, Calixtro Cruz Jr., Alex Cruz and Arnulfo Cruz; a sister, Carmen Lopez; 23 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
