Funeral Mass for Santos R. Solis, 87, of Plainview will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Samuel Oracion officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel. Mr. Solis died Tuesday, May 3, 2011, in Amarillo. He was born Oct. 27, 1923, to Santos and Paula Solis in Edinburg. He married Elisa Juanita Solis on Dec. 15, 1954, in Plainview. He worked for Texas A&M agriculture research division for 42 years. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Ofelia and Hector Herrera and Margaret and Mike Cortinez, all of Lubbock, and Mary and Salvador Murillo of Amarillo; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Brenda Solis of Plainview and Pete and Sylvia Solis of Lubbock; three brothers, Cipriano Soliz of Tulia, Jose Guadalupe Solis of Three Rivers, Minn., and Margarito Solis of Edinburg; one sister, Adela Solis of Edinburg; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
