Obituary

Clara Snodgrass, 93, of Plainview passed away at 6:45 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, at her residence. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at Parklawn Memorial Gardens with Dr. Max Browning, interim pastor of First Christian Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Snodgrass was born Sept. 12, 1914, in Bailey, Okla. She grew up in Bray, Okla. She worked on the family farm and helped her mother with the children. She came to Texas during harvest season to work when she met her future husband. She married George N. Snodgrass on Jan. 21, 1937, in Hale County. She worked for the Plainview Independent School District for more than 30 years and was a cafeteria manager. She was a member of First Christian Church in Plainview. She was also a member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Joel Don Snodgrass; two brothers, W.C. Nite and John Calvin Nite; and four sisters, Ruby Fitzgerald, Vadys Ewonus, Ruth Dixon and Ethel Nite. Survivors include her daughter, Kay Boedeker and husband Ervin of Plainview; a son, Cecil Snodgrass and wife Carol of Spring, Texas; two sisters, Maxine Goodrich of Marlow, Okla., and Myrtle Ketch of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren, Lisa Hacke and husband George of Conroe, Texas, Laura Scheufele and husband Brian of Broomfield, Colo., Zane Boedeker of Plainview and J. Scot Snodgrass of Houston; six great-grandchildren, Christina, Tim, Tyler, Jessica, George Jr., and Kendall; five great-great-grandchildren; a special nephew, John Watkins of Duncan, Okla.; special caregiver, Guadalupe Flores of Plainview; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation for family and friends will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Memorials may be made to Area Community Hospice, 3109 Olton
