Smith, John F.

Funeral services for John F. Smith, 93, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Phillip Jones, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith died at 7:25 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, in HIS of Plainview.

He was born Oct. 24, 1906, in Canton where he grew up and attended schools. He farmed in the Canton area until 1946 when he moved to Plainview and continued to farm. He retired in 1971 and moved to Chandler. He returned to Plainview in 1993.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge since 1957.

On July 12, 1928, he married Billie Irene Landrum in Canton. She died Sept. 15, 1994.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Rozlyn and Bill Cookston of Plainview; a son and daughter-in-law, Troy E. and Patsy Smith of Chandler; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Vinson Dixon, Chris Craig, Ershel Johnson, Charles Hardin, Rusty Abbott and Bobby Shaddix.
