Smith, Herbert Norman, Mrs. (Annie Mae Jackson)

Funeral services for Annie Mae Smith, 81, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Lemons Memorial Chapel with the Rev. J. Dean McNamara, chaplain of VistaCare Family Hospice and the Rev. Don Robertson, pastor of College Heights Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mrs. Smith died at 4:50 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at her residence.

She was born Feb. 17, 1919, in Chillicothe. She moved to Hale County and graduated from Plainview High School in 1939.

She married Herbert Norman Smith on Aug. 16, 1940, in Plainview and they farmed in the Providence Community. He died Dec. 4, 1991.

She moved to Plainview in 1972. She was a member of Avion Travelcade Club and Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Joan Rogers of Fort Worth and Donna and Jerry Griffith of Lubbock; a son and daughter-in-law, Herbert and Sharon Smith of Plainview; two brothers Wayne Jackson of Plainview and Wylie Jackson of Lubbock; three sisters, Juel Slaughter of Huntington Beach, Calif., Minnie Faye George of Abilene and Joyce Harrison of Fairfield, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.

Three brothers and one sister are deceased.
