Smith, Eldon Lawrence, Mrs. (Evelyn M. Suttle)

Graveside services for former Plainview resident Evelyn Marie Suttle Smith, 91, of Bossier City, La., will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Plainview Memorial Park with the Rev. Eddy Curry, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.

Arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mrs. Smith died Thursday, April 3, 2003, in Bossier City.

She was born Dec. 23, 1911, in Olathe, Colo.

She married Eldon Smith on Aug. 2, 1931, in Pueblo, Colo. He died Feb. 11, 1979.

She attended school in Olathe and college at Western State College in Gunnison, Colo. After her marriage they moved to Dallas for 10 years. They then moved to Plainview where they resided for more than 30 years.

After her husband?s death, Mrs. Smith moved to the Baptist Memorial Retirement Center in San Angelo. In 2000, she moved to Bossier City to be near family.

Mrs. Smith was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Her son, Eldon L. Smith Jr., died in 1994.

Survivors include three grandchildren and their spouses, Carol M. and Marvin Nelson of Benton, La., Vanessa and Eldon L. Smith III of Sulpher, La., and David T. and Amanda Smith of Roswell, GA.; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
