Obituary

Funeral services for Peggy Smith, 64, will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Colonial Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Malcom of Weatherford officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Smith died Thursday, March 7, 2002, at her residence. She was born Sept. 19, 1937 in Quitaque and married Clayton Smith on Oct. 19, 1967 in Quitaque. She attended a business college in Oklahoma City and worked for West Texas Utility Company. She then worked as a secretary at Excel beefpackers in Plainview for 10 years. She was a member of Colonial Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Danny Stevens of Wichita, Kan., and James Smith of Canyon; a brother, James Starkey of Slaton; and four granddaughters.
