Obituary

Memorial services for Thralene Parsons Smith, 78, of Redlands, Calif., will be at a future date. Mrs. Smith died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, at Community Hospital in Redlands. She was born March 3, 1933, to Thrane and Imogene Parsons. She married Bob G. Smith on Dec. 26, 1953, in Plainview. They lived in the Plainview and Lubbock area until 1960 when they moved to Realto, Calif., where she taught junior high school for 37 years. She was a Baptist. Survivors include two sons, Dr. Malcolm Smith and his wife, Dr. Robyn Weiss, of Danville, Calif., and Michael Smith and his wife, Sherry, of Baxter, Minn.; four grandchildren, Marina and Rachell Smith of Danville and Christopher and Tiffany Smith of Baxter; one sister, Wanda Bass and her husband, Frank, of Plainview; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her husband; her parents; and a sister, Avanell DuBose, are deceased.
