Smalley, Gerald E.

PETERSBURG ? Funeral services for Gerald E. Smalley, 68, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Lowrie, pastor, and the Rev. Wayman Swopes, pastor of Greenwood Baptist Church in Midland, officiating.

Burial will be in Petersburg Cemetery by Bartley-Silva Funeral Home of Plainview.

Mr. Smalley died Thursday, May 6, 1999, at his residence after a brief illness.

He was born April 4, 1931, in Floyd County. He was a farmer and a member of First Baptist Church.

On Jan. 12, 1955, he married Dorothy Jean Pierce in Floydada. She died Nov. 21, 1987.

Survivors include a daughter, Penny Nannette Hubbard of Pikeville, Tenn.; two sons, Curtis Smalley of Little River and Kelly Smalley of Petersburg, three sisters, Elnora Wilson of Amarillo, Eloise Rhodes of Fort Worth and Delores Cannon of Floydada; and eight grandchildren, Jessica Jo Smalley, Jennisty Jean Smalley, Jaloda Lane Smalley, Justin Chase Smith, Jeffrey Tye Smith, Katherine Suzanne Smalley, Elizabeth Jean Smalley and Victoria Grace Smalley.

Three sons, Danny, Wesley and a baby boy Smalley are deceased

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home, 1200 S. I-27 in Plainview.
