Slayton, Henry Wallace

Funeral services for Henry Wallace Slayton, 73, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in College Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Robertson, pastor, and the Rev. Robert Roecker, associate pastor, officiating.

Burial will be I Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mr. Slayton died at 12:47 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, in Covenant Medical Center Lubbock.

He was born Feb. 9, 1927, in Decatur. He attended schools in Flomot and graduated from high school in Quitaque. He moved to Edmonson in 1952 and farmed until 1997. He was a member and a deacon at College Heights Baptist Church. He was a former director of the Edmonson Co-Op and was president of Hale County Farm Bureau and current director of the Senior Citizens.

On June 6, 1952, he married Aubrey Grundy in Lubbock.

Survivors include his wife; twin daughters, Terri Slayton, both of Amarillo; one brother, Bobby Slayton of Plainview; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Slayton of Lubbock.

The family suggests memorials to College Heights Baptist Church.
