Obituary

Funeral services for Bobby J. Slayton, 79, of Plainview will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Don Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Slayton died Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, in Plainview. He was born Nov. 28, 1930, in Marley, Okla., to Clifton and Celia True Slayton. He married Ellen Rowell on Jan. 21, 1955, in Lubbock. He was a longtime area resident and farmer. He served on the ASCS Board for several years. He taught Sunday school for more than 30 years and was a former deacon at First Baptist Church in Edmonson. He was a member of College Heights Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Ellen Slayton of Plainview; and one son, Roger Lynn Slayton of Plainview. Online condolences: www.My Plainview.com
