Obituary
Funeral services for Casper Sims, 78, will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Happy Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Miller, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Sims died Friday, March 24, 2006, at University Medical Center Lubbock. He was born March 24, 1928, in Shreveport, La., to Edmond and Lottie Bell Sims. He married Emma Yarbrough in 1977 in Plainview. He worked as a welder for the Hamby Co., in the late 1960s to the mid 1980s and worked at Dulaney's Auto Parts from the mid-1990s until his retirement. He was a member of Happy Union Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Billy Yarbrough of Amarillo, Travis English of Plainview, and Dennis Allen and Ray Allen, both of Tulia; six daughters, Patricia Allen, Regina Sims, Connie Evans and Felicia Guy, all of Plainview, Yolanda Ross of Fort Worth and Bridgette Vaughn of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two brothers, Tom F. Sims of Elaserfield and Hubert Sims of Wichita Falls; two sisters, Jenny L. Perkins and Zella Mae Pounds, both of Fort Worth; 27 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. His parents, four brothers and three sisters are deceased.
