Obituary

A memorial service for Martha Mangum Sims, 65, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. Roger Foote officiating. Cremation and memorial services are by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Sims died at 11:49 a.m. Thursday, Sept 15, 2005, in Covenant Hospital Plainview. Mrs. Sims was born Aug. 8, 1940, in Whitesboro to Roy Taylor and Sara Lurlene Tipton Mangum. She grew up in Plainview and received her GED. She married Bobby Sims on June 2, 1979, in Plainview. She worked at Hale County State Bank for six years before moving to Hale Center where she worked at First National Bank (now Security Bank) for 15 years. Survivors include her husband; one son, Todd Walker and his wife Lisa of Plainview; and five brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Leon and Arlice Sims of Kingsland, Richard and Edith Sims of Plainview, Don and Sally Kelly of Frederick, Okla., Bert McClary of Wichita Falls and Charlie and Sharrion Sims of Plainview.
