Obituary

Funeral Mass for Domingo Silvas, 76, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Arsenio Redulla officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home. A rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Silvas died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010, in Lubbock. He was born Nov. 11, 1933, to Esteban and Salome Silvas in Taft. He married Maria Elena Silvas, who died in 1995. He was a retired plumber who worked for Ron Roberts and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include five sons and four daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Roe Silvas of Beeville, Frank and Victoria Silvas and Jesse and Sophia Silvas, all of Lubbock, and Domingo Jr. and Melinda Silvas, and Joe Luis Silvas, all of Plainview; three daughters and sons-in-law, Ramona and Joe Estrada of San Antonio, Mable and Pete Maldonado of Round Rock, and Rosemary and Ray Vera of Plainview; one brother, Tony Silvas of Tahoka; 19 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.
