Jerardo 'Jerry' Sierra Jerardo "Jerry" Sierra, 53, of Naples, Fla., formerly of Plainview, passed away in Lubbock on Sunday, June 2, 2013. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainview with Father Arsenio Redulla officiating. Interment will follow the service in Plainview Memorial Park. Funeral service arrangements are under the care of Wood-Dunning Funeral Home of Plainview. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. today, June 5, 2013, at the funeral home. Jerry was born in Plainview on July 11, 1959, to Jesus and Hortencia (Camarena) Sierra, along with a twin Joel. He was a brother to two sisters and six brothers. He was a Star member of the Plainview Boy Scouts and a graduate of Plainview High School, Class of 1978. In the pursuit of being a successful business owner, he moved to Florida. He then claimed residency to the greater southwest Florida area of Naples. Jerry was a resident of southwest Florida for 27 years, where he dedicated his life to raising his two daughters, Rebecca Marie Sierra and Paige Ann Sierra, with his former wife, Karen Sierra. He was also a great coach for both of his daughters' softball teams and a great fan as a father. Jerry was a self-employed business owner who through his work developed many eternal friendships. Jerry was a child of God with hopes and dreams of better tomorrows, influencing all with whom he came in contact. Jerry's positive attitude and unforgettable humor only left those around him in a joyous moment. Jerry is survived by his daughters, Rebecca Sierra and Paige Sierra of Naples, Fla., and Katherine Morales Perez of Lubbock; his granddaughters, Nevaeh Vasquez and Gabriella Perez, also of Lubbock; his mother, Hortencia Sierra of Plainview; his sisters, Maria Hamilton and her husband Bill of Woodward, Okla., and Teri Alvarado and her husband James of Lubbock; his brothers, Guadalupe Sierra and his wife Patricia of Plainview, Jerry's twin brother Joel Sierra of Woodward, Okla., Joaquin Sierra and his wife Diana of Plainview, Blas Sierra of Kerrville, Texas, Julian Sierra and his wife Toni of Plainview and Jessie Sierra II of Naples, Fla.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesus Sierra Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Leopoldo and Maria Camarena; his paternal grandparents, Eduvijes and Trinidad Sierra; and a niece, MiJoy Sierra. The Sierra family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the surgeons and staff of NCH Hospitals and Hospice of Naples, Fla.; to the staff of University Medical Center of Lubbock; and to the staff of Hospice Hands of West Texas and Odyssey Hospice of Lubbock.
