Memorial services for Connie Shuping of Hale Center will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, in the First Baptist Church with Mark True officiating. Cremation services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Hale Center. Mrs. Shuping died Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, in Lubbock. She was born July 5, 1951, in Plainview to Barney Russell and Opal Pauline (Nance) Christesson. She married Bobby Lee Shuping in 1965 in Tulia. They moved to Hale Center in 1974 from Carlsbad, New Mexico, and she was a member of the United Game Breeders Association. She was preceded in death by a brother Barney Christesson and two sisters, Paula Christesson and Cody Christesson. She is survived by a son Bobby Shuping and wife Tammie of Hale Center; two brothers, Mark Christesson and wife Karen of Carlsbad, New Mexico, and Kelly Christesson of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two sisters, Kaydenna Stephenson of Carlsbad, New Mexico, and Sandie Allen and husband Mike of Summers, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Payten Shuping of Hale Center, Zach Logan and wife Kristi of Stamford, Texas, and Zane Logan and wife Cammy of Amarillo; three great-grandchildren, Kagen and Braden Logan of Stamford and Macie Turner of Hale Center. She is also survived by her "adopted" families, Bill and Sabrino Lucero and their sons, Trey and Lance, and the Chesshir family.
