Obituary

THROCKMORTON - Funeral services for Sherry Jo Short, 55, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Church of Christ with Claude Brown of Abilene and Larry West of Monroe, La., officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in the Hale Center Cemetery by Merriman-Archer Funeral Home. Mrs. Short Wednesday Sept. 26, 2001, at her residence. She was born March 7, 1946, in Clovis, N.M. She received an associate?s degree from Lubbock Christian University, and a bachelor?s degree from Abilene Christian University. She received her master?s degree from Eastern New Mexico and had taught for 20 years in the public schools. She sang with the Meistersingers, A Cappella and Lubbock Christian Alumni Hallelujah Choruses. She had been a member of the Church of Christ for more than 45 years. Survivors include her husband, Silas E. Short; her father and mother, Arthur and Doris Moorman of Clovis, N.M.; a daughter, Vanessa Ellis of Clovis; five sons and three daughters-in-law, Zack and Terri Short of Canyon, Mark and Carol Short and Bill and Mary Short, all of Post, Zane Holloway of Red River, N.M., and Shiloh Joseph Short of Throckmorton; a brother, Dale Moorman of Ruidoso, N.M.; and 10 grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to Sunset International Bible Institute, 3723 34th St., Lubbock, TX 79401.
