Obituary

Graveside services for Charles Shoemaker, 65, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Plainview Cemetery with the Rev. Jay Simpson, chaplain of Area Community Hospice, officiating. Burial will be by Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mr. Shoemaker died at 1:45 a.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2005, at his residence. He was born Feb. 24, 1939, in Plainview and married Gloria Perales on Dec. 11, 1981, in Plainview. He graduated from Plainview High School and worked as a self-employed television repairman. He was a lifelong Plainview resident. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Tammy Amaya of Plainview and Andrea Shoemaker of Lubbock; and three grandchildren, Alisha Hernandez, Luis Hernandez Jr., and David Lee Amaya. A daughter, Rachel Lee Vielma, is deceased. Memorials are suggested to Area Community Hospice, 3109 Olton Rd. Suite C, Plainview, TX 79072.
