Shadden, Odell G., Mrs. (Dorothy Mae Rawls)

HALE CENTER ? Memorial services for Dorothy Mae Shadden, 78, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Meacham, pastor, officiating.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Plainview Memorial Park by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Shadden died at 4:45 a.m. Monday, March 1, 1999, in Hospitality House in Lubbock.

She was born Dec. 4, 1920, in Lubbock. She lived in the Cotton Center/Hale Center area until 1939 and lived in Lubbock from 1954 to 1973 when she returned to Hale Center.

She was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lubbock and had worked for Hester?s and for Caprock Business Forms, retiring in 1982. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hale Center.

On Nov. 11, 1939, she married Odell Shadden. He died May 26, 1987.

Survivors include a son, William O. ?Bill? Shadden of Round Rock; three daughters, Dorothy Dell Layer of Vacaville, Calif., Patricia Mayer of Lubbock and Leesa Gail Cole of Dallas; two brothers, Donald Rawls of Princeton and Robert ?Bobby? Rawls of Lubbock; five sisters, Ruby Coursey of Sulphur Springs, Wanda Adkins of Borger, Dodi McCoy of Hale Center, Modelle Thurman of San Angelo and Mozelle Austin of Austin; and five grandchildren.
