Settle, Cynthia Leann

Funeral Services for Cynthia Settle, 47, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Seth Ward Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Ritter, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Bartley-Silva Funeral Home.

Ms. Settle died Thursday, July 10, 2003, in Covenant Hospital in Lubbock.

She was born Dec. 16, 1955, in Plainview where she grew up. She graduated from PHS in 1974 and from Wayland Baptist University in 2001. She was an accredited law enforcement officer and attended schools in Austin for law enforcement training.

She had worked in law enforcement in Floydada, Plainview and Amarillo and for the USDA in the Forestry Service in Colorado Springs, Colo., for four years during the late 1970s.

Survivors include her mother, Ada Settle of Plainview; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Penny Shugart and Theresa and Tommy Day, all of Plainview; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Buck and Rose Settle of Edinburg, Whitt and Linda Settle of San Antonio and Jack and Francis Settle of LaFeria.

The family will receive visitors from 4-6 p.m., today at the funeral home.
