Joe Acy Selman
Graveside services for Joe Acy Selman, 91, will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday in Parklawn Memorial gardens with the Rev. Joe P. Weldon, Baptist minister, officiating.
Burial will be by Lemons Funeral Home.
Mr. Acy died at his residence at 4:30 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2004.
He was born Jan. 5 1913, in McKinney and moved to Plainview with his parents in 1928. He married Eva Jenkins on Sept. 22, 1938, in Sweetwater. She died May 27,1991.
He was a self-employed truck driver and hauled cotton seed for Eeds Gin for 22 years. He also did custom harvesting and hay hauling. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Ken Chapman of Plainview; two brothers, Albert Searcy Selman of Seattle, Wash., and Bill Selman of Iola; two sisters, Alene Winburne of Canyon and Doris Kalb of Ketchum, Okla.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers are deceased.
