Obituary

Funeral services for Marthalang Seale, 73, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Bartley Memorial Chapel with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Abernathy Cemetery by Bartley Funeral Home. Mrs. Seale died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, in Covenant Hospital Plainview. She was born May 20, 1931, in Tulsa, Okla. She married J.B. Seale on Feb. 11, 1950, in Canyon. After their marriage they moved to Canyon and four years later to Amarillo. They moved to Kansas City, Mo., in 1959 and to Plainview in 1983. She attended West Texas State College in Canyon and was a substitute teacher at Ruskin High School in Kansas City, Mo., for 20 years. She was a substitute teacher for Plainview High School from 1983-2001. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Plainview. Survivors include her husband, J.B. Seale of Plainview; a sister-in-law, Velma L. Reeves of Hillsboro; two nephews, Brad and Sherrie Reeves of Clovis, N.M., and Randall and Mary Reeves of Lubbock; and great-nieces and nephews Andrew, Chrisie and Derek Reeves. A son, Jeff Seale, died Dec. 1, 1995. The family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
