Obituary

Mary Ann Scarbrough-Moody was born May 29, 1937, to Bill and Willie Kate Martin in Childress. Mary passed from this life on June 30, 2010, surrounded by her loving family at University Medical Center Hospital in Lubbock. She is survived by her husband, Weldon Moody, and four children, Deborah Brackeen of Wichita Falls, Dianna Scarbrough-Jones of Plainview, Donna Kay Jones of Canyon and Daryl Scarbrough of Lubbock. She also is survived by seven stepchildren, seven grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Moody moved to Plainview in 1973 where she owned and operated Scarbrough Insurance Agency from 1976 to 1999. She was known by all for her generosity and kind heart. Her last gift was the donation of her body to Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center for cancer research. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or Soroptimist Happy Feet Project, P.O. Box 1807, Plainview, TX 79073. Memorial services will be officiated by Pastor Don Robertson and are scheduled to be held at College Heights Baptist Church, 1801 Quincy, Plainview, at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010.
