Obituary

Lorene Velma Sands, 92, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2012, at First Christian Church with Dr. Max Browning officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the personal care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today, April 1, 2012, at the funeral home. Mrs. Sands was born Feb. 5, 1920, in Matador, Texas, to John Martin and Belva Kingery. She married John Sands on July 20, 1948. He preceded her in death. She is survived by one daughter, Debbie Arnett and her husband, Steve, of Irving; three granddaughters, Allison Arnett Thayer of Irving, Alexis Gebhardt of Haltom City and Kendra Arnett of Burleson; and one great-grandson, Richard Thayer of Irving. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William E. McDaniel; one son, Bill McDaniel Sands; four sisters, Ruby Goates, Ruth Armstrong, Dorothy Powell and Betty Martin; one brother, David Kingery; and her parents, John and Belva Kingery.
