Obituary

Pablo "Paul" Sanchez Sr., 74, of Plainview, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015. A rosary will be said on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 6 p.m. at Lemons Funeral Home Chapel in Plainview. Services will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2015, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Paul was born Nov. 19, 1940, in Brackettville Texas, to Manuel Sanchez and Caterina (Martinez) Sanchez. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainview. Paul worked for 43 years at Cargill. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, being around his family and especially enjoyed having his grandchildren around him. His claim to fame was that he was cast in the famous movie "The Alamo" starring none other than The Duke, John Wayne. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Daniel Sanchez and Jesse Sanchez and one sister, Josie Sanchez. He is survived by seven daughters, Bertha Sanchez, Angie Sanchez, Christine Sanchez, Diann Sanchez, Irene Sanchez, Mary Ann Sanchez, Ernestine Sanchez; two sons, Pablo Sanchez, Jr. and Tony Sanchez; adopted son, Rico Sanchez; one brother, Manuel Sanchez; two sisters, Elaine Martinez and Rosa Reyes; 21 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
