Obituary

Funeral services for Esabel Sanchez, 86, of Plainview will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lemons Memorial Chapel with Joe Barrera officiating. A rosary will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Sanchez died Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock. She was born Aug. 18, 1923, to Macario and Lorenza Cervantes in Nixon. She married Luis Sanchez on Oct. 16, 1944, in Ballinger. He died Aug. 4, 1986. Survivors include a daughter, Helen Perez of Plainview; two sisters, Gregoria and Maria Garces of Kerrville; eight grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Her husband; one son, Luis Sanchez Jr.; six brothers, Victor, Facundo, Sotero, Apolonio, Martin and Mike Garces; one sister, Juanita; and two great-grandchildren are deceased.
