Obituary

Funeral Mass for Jessie V. Sanchez, 67, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Gerard Kenney, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Wood-Dunning Colonial Chapel. Mrs. Sanchez died at 1:15 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, in Mi Casita Care Center in Lubbock. She was born Feb. 4, 1934, in Spur. She moved to Plainview in 1960 from Morton and was a homemaker. On Dec. 31, 1958, she married Jesse O. Sanchez in Levelland. He died May 2, 2000. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Belinda Sanchez and Robert and Janie Sanchez, all of Plainview; two children she raised, Linda Cantu of Amarillo and Christina Vagai of Plainview; two brothers, Julian Vargas of Amarillo and Raymond Vargas of Missouri; a sister, Marie Oliveras of Dodge City, Kan.; six grandchildren, Michael Sanchez, Jerry Sanchez, Jinnifer Sanchez, Jesse Rene Sanchez and Angel Sanchez, all of Plainview, and Richard Sanchez of Roseberg, Ore.; and three great-grandchildren.
