Obituary

Mrs. Eddie Lee Sammann, 95, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010, in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Rev. Gerald Boerger officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Dunning Funeral Home. Mrs. Sammann was born Feb. 9, 1915, to Ed and Lela (Williams) Jones in Erath County, Texas. Eddie was the oldest of seven children. She married B.F. Sammann on Sept. 2, 1940, in Wilson, Texas. They were blessed with a daughter, Charlotte. Eddie was a homemaker who loved cooking and doing yard work. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and they, in turn, loved their "Gingee." She was preceded in death by her husband, B.F. Sammann, who died in 1989. Eddie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Kenneth Sjogren of Plainview; her grandchildren; Jennifer and Ryan Riddle of Plainview, Seth Sjogren of Euless, and Tiffany and Matt Heape of Euless; her great-grandchildren, Cailyn and Reagan Riddle of Plainview; a brother, Homer Jones; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Odean Steigelbauer and Mozelle and Leon Monk; and numerous nieces and nephews.
