Obituary

Funeral services for Yolanda Saldana, 54, formerly of Plainview, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bartley Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Alfredo Martinez officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Saldana died Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at University Medical Center in Lubbock. She was born April 30, 1954, in Cameron to Jesus and Cruz Estrada. She married Eleazar Saldana on March 6, 1972, in Plainview. He died Jan. 19, 2000. She worked as a CNA for Plainview Healthcare Center for more than 25 years before moving to Lubbock and becoming activity director at IHS. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jayka Saldana of Littlefield; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Angie and Ralph Garza of Goodyear, Ariz., and Julie and Martin Zambrano of Lubbock; six brothers, Don G. Estrada of Corpus Christi, Jesse Estrada Jr., of Andrews, Erasmo Estrada of Plainview, Joe Estrada and Danny Estrada, both of San Antonio, and Richard Hernandez of Houston; five sisters, Frances Rodriguez of Quanah, Mary E. Ayala of Corpus Christi, Rosemary Ortiz and Rita Martinez, both of Plainview, and Guadalupe Guitierrez of Amarillo; her mother; and eight grandchildren. Her husband; her father; one son, Erik Wayne Saldana; one daughter, Sara Marie Zambrano; and one sister, Mary Alice Estrada, are deceased. Online condolences may be made to [email protected]
