Obituary

Funeral services for Scott Salazar, 28, of Plainview will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at Bartley Memorial Chapel with Archie Hunnicutt officiating. Interment will be in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview. The family will receive friends for prayer from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. He died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at Covenant Hospital Plainview after a lengthy illness under hospice care. He was born May 31, 1980, in Lockney, Texas, to Oscar Salazar and Nora Pena. He married Maria Luisa Rea on July 17, 2001, in Floydada, Texas. He lived in Plainview since 1994, moving from Floydada. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1999 and worked for Azteca Milling. Survivors include his wife, Maria Luisa Salazar of Plainview; three sons, Kevin, Christopher and Ethan Salazar, all of Plainview; one daughter, Brooklyn Salazar of Hereford, Texas; his parents, Oscar Salazar of Lubbock and Nora Pena of Plainview; one brother, Evan Salazar of Plainview; grandparents, Pete and Celia Salazar of Floydada and Betty Pena of Plainview; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jose and Luisa Rea of Floydada; and his favorite uncle, Fred Pena of Plainview.
