Obituary

Luis Salas, 55, of Plainview, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Plainview with Father Raymundo Manriquez officiating. Interment will follow the service in Plainview Memorial Park. Funeral service arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at the funeral home. Luis was born on May 7, 1958, in Robstown, Texas, to Aurilano and Esmeralda Salas. Luis and Esperanza Pallejo were married on Dec. 14, 2009, in Plainview. Luis worked for Cargill packaging plant for 18 years. He liked to wash his cars, mow lawns, go out and have fun, and listen to music. He loved eating hamburgers, and buying a bouquet of roses for his wife and then taking her dancing. Luis liked to help people and his church. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Luis is survived by his wife, Esperanza Salas of Plainview; his mother, Esmeralda Salas of Hale Center; his children, Adam Salas and his wife, Janie Porras, and Rosalinda Massey and her husband, Chad, all of Plainview; his brothers, David Salas of Lubbock, Aurilano Salas Jr., Danny Salas, Rudy Salas and Joe Salas, all of Hale Center; his sisters, Diana Sepeda, Irene Salas, and Esmeralda Salas, all of Forney, Texas; and two grandchildren.
