Obituary

Funeral services for Jose "Lupito" Salas, 23, formerly of Plainview, will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Plainview with the Rev. Raymundo Manriquez, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview. Mr. Salas died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006, at Brook Army Medical Center in San Antonio. He was born Feb. 14, 1983, in Lockney to Miguel and Lupe Salas. He grew up in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School in 2002. He had a passion for horses and enjoyed being a horse jockey. He will be missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his parents, Miguel and Lupe Salas of Plainview; one brother and sister-in-law, Miguel Jr. and Martina Salas of El Paso; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Maria and David Garcia and Lucy Salas, all of Plainview, and Elizabeth and Billy Trevino of El Paso; his maternal grandparents, Pascual and Amelia Flores of Plainview; and several nephews and nieces who loved him very much. Rosary will be from 7-8 Thursday evening at Bartley Memorial Chapel.
