Obituary

HALE CENTER -- Funeral services for James K. Sageser, 67, of Hale Center, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ken Rowland officiating.

Burial will be in Center Plains Cemetery in Cotton Center by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center.

Mr. Sageser died Monday, Aug. 27, 2001.

He was born Nov. 29, 1933, west of Cotton Center and had lived and farmed in the Cotton Center and Hale Center areas all his life. He married Janice Laws on June 16, 1956, in Lockhart. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a Scottish Rite Mason, a member of Khiva Shrine and a member of LeMond Lodge No. 832. He was also a member of Plainview Promenaders Square Dance Club and First United Methodist Church in Hale Center.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jimmy of Edmonson; a daughter, Lee Ann McDowell of Shamrock; a brother, Billy Joe of Brady; three sisters, Mae Branson of Burbank, Calif., Margaret Peck of Plainview and Laura Jean Hopkins of Lubbock; and three grandchildren.

A brother, Bobby Sageser, died in 1979.
