Obituary

Funeral services for Helen Russell, 85, of Plainview will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Russell died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at her residence. She was born Oct. 26, 1924, in Wheeler to William Desi Dean and Onita Duncan Batteas. She was married to E.S. Russell. He died in 1996. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.S. Russell; her parents, William and Onita Batteas; a daughter, Anita Sue Russell; and a sister. Survivors include two sons, Monte Russell of Amarillo and Kenneth Greg Russell of Perryton; three brothers; four sisters; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
