Obituary

Funeral services for Mamie Runnels, 66, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at United Baptist Church with Carl Smiley officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview. Mrs. Runnels died Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. She was born March 25, 1941, in Milam to Sam and Iva Lee Roberts. She married Walter Runnels on July 7, 1997, in Plainview. She moved to Plainview in 1950 from Hemphill. She was a member of Ash and Carver Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband; one son, Joseph Dove of Plainview; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Lisa and Bobby Dawkins of Plainview and Terisa and Bill Carter of Giddings; three sisters, Nettie Brigham, Lottie Carter and Earlean Johnson, all of Plainview; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Her parents; one daughter, Mamie Curry; three brothers, Hershal Roberts and Butler Roberts; four sisters, Hattie Gallington, Thelma Roberts, Addilee Roberts and Letherine Roberts; and one sister-in-law, Edna Hicks, are deceased.
