Funeral Mass for Maria Ruiz, 84, of Plainview will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Plainview with the Rev. Raymundo Manriquez officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home Rosary will be held from 6-8 p.m. today at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Ruiz died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, in Plainview. She was born May 23, 1926, to Perciliano and Felipa Cardona in Cotulla. She married Augustine G. Ruiz on March 19, 1940, in Big Wells. She moved to Plainview in 2004 from Turkey. She was a homemaker. Survivors include five sons, Ricardo Ruiz and Rogelio Ruiz, both of Dallas, Ramiro Ruiz of Dalhart, Roberto Ruiz of Plainview and Fernando Ruiz of Levelland; three daughters, Lidia Ruiz and Estella Flores, both of Plainview, and Lola Mendez of Sundown; five brothers, Perciliano Cardona Jr., Roel Cardona and Armando Cardona, all of Big Wells, Hector Cardona of Bloomington and Mario Cardona of Victoria; four sisters, Marta Perez and Marganita Perez, both of Big Wells, Maria Ellena Salazar of Angleton and Diamantina Baca of Pasadena; 21 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
