Royal, Lawrence Allan

Funeral services for Lawrence A. Royal, 77, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at College Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Robertson, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mr. Royal died at 10:10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2002, in Prairie House Living Center.

He was born April 27, 1925, in Mangum, Okla., and married Betty Peace on Jan. 18, 1949, in Clovis, N.M.

He was a draftsman for South-western Public Service for 37 years and served on the board of directors of the Roaring Springs Ranch Club for eight years.

He was a member of College Heights Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and R.W. Walker of Hale Center; a son and daughter-in-law, L.A. Jr. and Karen Royal of Edmonson; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Royal of San Angelo; two brothers, Douglas of Lubbock and Coke of Mesquite; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-granchildren.

A son, Stuart Dwight Royal, is deceased.

The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
