Obituary

Funeral services for Donnie Burl Roper, 82, of Tulia, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Tulia. Burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Roper died Sunday, June 10, 2012. He was born Sept. 28, 1929 in Plainview to Eddie Ray Welch and Bailey Chapman Roper. He served in the U.S. Army. A farmer, he worked in Swisher County all his life. Survivors include two daughters, LaJuan Roper of Little Elms and LaDawn Munn of Bridgeport; two grandchildren; a sister, Doris Rousseau of Tulia, and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Roy Roper, and his parents, Eddie and Bailey Roper, are deceased.
