Obituary

Orval Rollins, 88, of Plainview, died on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Doug Yates officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Orval was born Aug. 30, 1924, to Jesse and Iva Rollins in Snyder. He grew up and attended schools in Snyder. He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II. He moved to Plainview in 1947. He worked for Green Machinery until starting Rollins Drilling Co. in 1957. Orval was an avid fisherman and a charter member of the Plainview Bass Club. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jo Evelyn (Walding) Rollins. He is survived by two sons, Larry Rollins and wife Melinda of Plainview and Reggie Rollins and wife Carrie of Plainview; one brother, Garland Rollins and wife Laura of Plainview; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
