Obituary

Funeral services for Timothy Joe "Candy Man" Rogers, 42, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Hale Center with Dr. Carrol Green officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens of Plainview by Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Hale Center. Mr. Rogers died Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at Texas Hospital for Advanced Medicine in Farmers Branch. He was born May 8, 1967, in Hale Center. He was a lifelong Hale Center resident, graduating from Hale Center High School in 1985. He was a supervisor at Cargill Meat Solutions in Plainview, where he worked for 18 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church and of BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse). Survivors include his wife, Rachel Rogers; parents, Joe and Nell Rogers of Hale Center; one son, Jonathan Rogers of Itasca; two daughters, Shelbi Rogers of Itasca and Makayla Payne of Hale Center; and a sister and brother-in-law, Tanya and Rick Uptergrove.
