Obituary

Funeral services for Rex Darrell Rogers, 79, of Tulia will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Lemons Memorial Chapel in Plainview with the Rev. Rob Bridwell officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Mr. Rogers died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011. He was born April 12, 1932, in Memphis, Texas, to W.P. and Cena Rogers. He graduated from Lockney High School and married Marie Meester on Aug. 31, 1952, in Roswell, N.M. She died Feb. 23, 2002. He farmed in Briscoe County for many years. He was a member of Vigo Park Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Darrell Rogers, and a daughter, Rhondell Rogers, both of Amarillo; three grandchildren; a niece; and a great-niece. His parents and a son, Rusty Rogers, also are deceased.
